Common Grounds Collective UK is a community-rooted nonprofit that works quietly but persistently alongside individuals and families navigating life’s hardest moments—housing insecurity, food poverty, social isolation—not as saviors, but as neighbors.
Since our beginnings in 2009 as a social enterprise, we’ve grown into a registered organization (CIC: 16514079) dedicated to improving social, mental and emotional well-being across diverse communities. Our approach is grounded in compassion, inclusion, and the steady belief that healing happens through connection.
We create safe, stigma-free spaces where people—especially those facing isolation, mental health struggles, or major life transitions—can feel seen, supported, and less alone. Our work spans all ages and backgrounds, with particular focus on women, children, and young people who often carry the weight of systemic challenges in silence.
At the core of our work is a simple but powerful idea: that shared experience builds strength. By gathering around common ground—our challenges, our resilience, and our shared humanity—we help foster community-led support systems that are stronger, more compassionate, and more sustainable.
Through peer-led programs, grassroots outreach, and inclusive initiatives, we aim not only to ease isolation, but to build long-term pathways to connection, growth, and hope.
The name Common Grounds reflects our vision: a space where everyone belongs, where solidarity replaces stigma, and where every voice—no matter how quiet—matters.

What We Do
At Common Grounds Collective, our work begins with relationships — built on trust, shaped by listening, and grounded in care. We support individuals and families experiencing difficult realities like housing insecurity, food poverty, and social isolation, by creating practical, people-centered responses that grow from within the community.
We don’t arrive with ready-made answers. Instead, we co-create spaces and solutions that reflect the lived experiences of those we walk alongside.
Our programs include:
- Food Co-ops & Community Kitchens
Offering nutritious food access with dignity, while building connection through shared meals and mutual support. - Mental Health & Wellbeing Workshops
Peer-informed, trauma-sensitive spaces for emotional resilience, healing, and mental health awareness. - Youth & Women’s Empowerment Initiatives
Safe, creative spaces where individuals can reflect, lead, and shape their own narratives through mentoring, skill-building, and storytelling. - Inter-generational Circles & Cultural Events
Creating opportunities for community members of all ages to gather, learn from one another, and nurture belonging across differences.
We hold space, not just services — working with intention and accountability. Every initiative we run is shaped by the people it serves, with flexibility to respond to changing needs.
Our collective work is quiet but steady, rooted in solidarity, not charity. We move at the speed of trust — and we know that lasting change grows from the ground up.

I came for food support. I stayed because I found people who saw me — really saw me. This place gave me back my dignity.

Common Ground is where I found my voice. I used to think my story didn’t matter. Now I help others tell theirs.

It’s not just what they do, it’s how they do it — with so much heart. I always leave feeling like I belong to something bigger.
